Lisa Shohen, MA, LPC

Do you want to live a life filled with more passion and purpose? My personal life, professional training and work experience has enabled me to provide support to individuals in a warm, empathetic, compassionate, and non judgmental atmosphere.

I believe hope, healing, and connection are possible for anyone. It is during challenging times that one is often afforded the greatest opportunity for growth, refining and transformation. Pain is sometimes inevitable in life, but suffering need not be.

It is a courageous act to take the first step in pursuing therapy, and I feel honored to assist those beginning this process. My ideal client is one who highly motivated, and is willing to “go deep,” to learn about aspects of personality, behavioral patterns, attachment styles, and character that can contribute to developing a more profound sense of joy and fulfillment.

I have over 14 years of experience. My primary areas of research and practice include: Eating Disorders, Betrayal Trauma/Infidelity, Bariatric Assessments for Weight Loss Surgery, Body Image, Pregnancy and Postpartum Support, Life Transitions, Inner Child Work, Childhood Emotional Neglect, Relationships, Internal Family Systems, Personal Growth, Spirituality, Generalized Anxiety, Mild to Moderate Depression, Loss and Grief, Co-Dependency/Prodependency.

In addition to office sessions, I provide ease and accessibility through virtual counseling (HIPPA compliant video sessions) as well online assessments for Weight Loss Surgery.

  • Eating Disorders
