Roy Rim, MA, LAMFT

“Why did he have to say that?” “What’s wrong with her parents?” “Did I leave the stove on?” “I can’t believe that happened to Rich.”

Sometimes, we let our thoughts get the best of us. At other times, we’re not sure what the healthy response is. When life starts to become overwhelming, we need help and understanding.

Roy believes that knowledge of yourself and your relational dynamics can bring real clarity to what seems like a hopeless situation. He provides communication skills, challenging perspectives, and empathetic support for individuals, couples, and families who struggle with feeling overwhelmed or feel stuck in the same cycle. Through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy, he strives to provide help in setting goals and finding different pathways to meet them.

Roy received his BA in Economics at Rutgers University and holds his MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliance Graduate School of Counseling. He finds particular joy in seeing people change by challenging their assumptions and finding new ways to view past interactions and find true healing.
