Counseling for Anxiety, Depression, Relationships, and Life Transitions in New Jersey
If you’re noticing a decline in your ability to navigate work, relationships, school, or everyday life, you’re not alone. Many people come to therapy feeling emotionally overwhelmed—struggling with anxiety, deep sadness, anger, hopelessness, or a growing sense of disconnection from others. You may find yourself withdrawing from relationships or losing interest in things that once mattered to you.
I understand how challenging and discouraging this can feel. At Light the Way Counseling, I provide therapy in a safe, empathetic, and compassionate environment, where you are respected, heard, and supported as you work toward meaningful change.
My Therapeutic Approach
My approach to therapy is collaborative and integrative. I draw from psychoeducation, family systems therapy, and solution-focused techniques, tailoring each session to your unique needs and goals. Together, we work to understand patterns, strengthen insight, and develop practical tools that help you move forward with clarity and confidence.
With over 20 years of experience speaking, teaching, and training in churches, businesses, and community settings, I bring a deep understanding of relational dynamics, leadership, and personal growth. At the request of clients, I can thoughtfully integrate spirituality from a biblical perspective into therapy in a respectful, clinically sound, and manner that is aligned with your values.
Experience & Credentials
I earned my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliance Graduate School of Counseling at Nyack College. I see clients at Light the Way Counseling Center’s Somerset and Midland Park offices, and via telehealth, serving individuals, couples, and families across New Jersey. I am also fluent in Spanish.
In addition to my clinical work, I have served internationally as a speaker, trainer, and counselor, working with diverse populations on topics related to relationships, emotional well-being, interpersonal growth, and leadership.
A Personal Note
I don’t believe therapy is about simply being told what to do. Instead, I focus on helping you expand your thinking, process your experiences, and apply insight in real, practical ways. I believe that the right information—when applied intentionally—leads to real transformation.
Witnessing that transformation is deeply meaningful to me. Healing brings empowerment, clarity, and the ability to step into the best version of yourself. This process of deep change is what I call true metamorphosis.
My areas of specialty and focus are:
I work with adults (18+) and provide therapy for:
Marriage and relationship concerns
Separation and divorce
Anxiety and depression
Addictions and co-dependency
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
Bipolar disorder
Loss and grief
I also collaborate closely with immigration attorneys, conducting psychological evaluations for Extreme Hardship and U-Visa cases.
